Description
JOB PURPOSE
To provide excellent customer service to the faculty, staff and students through technical support and administration of end-user systems. The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, operating systems, and applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, implementing upgrades, and supporting end-users with IT-related needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Server & Network Administration : Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and cloud environments.
System Security : Implement security measures, monitor system logs, and manage firewalls, antivirus, and access controls.
User Support : Provide technical support to employees, troubleshoot hardware / software issues, and manage user accounts.
Backup & Recovery : Ensure data backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies are in place.
Software & Hardware Management : Deploy and update software, maintain hardware components, and oversee licensing compliance.
Performance Monitoring : Monitor system performance, optimize resources, and proactively address potential issues.
Documentation & Compliance : Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes. Ensure compliance with IT policies and industry standards.
Automation & Scripting : Develop automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to improve efficiency in system management.
Assist with hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring milestone compliance while coordinating with application owners to minimize disruptions.
Build, and maintain IT infrastructure in Azure environments, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions
Install, configure, and update software applications, patches, and operating systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 : 30 pm
Shared office environment
Some evenings, weekends, and institutional breaks may be required
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Include, but not limited to :
Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years in a Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably in a cloud-computing environment
Advanced expertise in Azure and Windows server administration. MSP experience is preferred.
Experience with administration of windows servers and 365 cloud platform.
Proficiency in networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and Active Directory.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience with VMware.
Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is a plus.
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
Must possess a strong attention to detail
Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must possess a positive attitude
Must be able to show a desire and willingness to learn
Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Able lift and / or move up to 40 pounds.
