Midwestern Career College - Cleveland has an opening for a Sterile Processing Adjunct Instructor.
This is an in-person teaching position. Only local applicants will be considered.
With four campuses in the Chicagoland area, MCC started operations in Middleburg Heights, OH, in Fall 2024. For the spring term that starts on April 28th, MCC is hiring part-time adjunct instructors for the Sterile Processing program, with morning and night schedules.

Responsibilities
- Prepare for and instruct established and approved curriculum to students in a professional manner
- Review and discuss syllabi requirements at the start of each term with students
- Ensure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures
- Maintain professionalism within the classroom and coach students on their professionalism
- Manage and resolve student issues in the classroom as necessary
- Manage all classroom activities, including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction
- Ensure students are attending class and arriving on time, and resolve attendance issues as needed
- Record student attendance, grades, and all student interactions in student files and on the SIS on time
- Attend trainings to maintain currency in the field and continual improvement of personal teaching strategies
- Work closely with the Lead Instructor to manage student issues that could potentially lead to low retention rates
- Advise students on issues affecting their education and provide guidance as needed
- Setup lab area for daily instructional activities, including equipment setup
- Recognize the need for and initiate student support plans, warning, and tutoring as needed
- Assist in the maintenance of quality equipment and tools for program use
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree in Health Sciences or its equivalent preferred
- Must have valid and current Professional Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) is required.
- Teaching experience is a plus

- Ability to establish rapport within the campus community.
- Ability to develop and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Adherence to institutional standards of conduct within internal and external environments affiliated with the institution.
