What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at Midwestern Pet Foods?
Job Description
1. Primary Technician in the Quality Control Lab performing duties such as:
- a. Running in-process, add incoming ingredients, and finished product samples on the NIR for protein, moisture and fat
- b. Monitor in-process add incoming ingredients, and finished product for conformance to specifications
- c. Testing incoming ingredients to assure they meet food safety specifications
- d. Review incoming ingredient paperwork for conformance to Company standards
- e. Review production paperwork for conformance to specifications and Company standards
2. To be a leader in cGMP conformance.
3. To be an active member of the Food Safety Team.
4. Send out samples for 3rd party testing as requested.
5. Work overtime as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned.
6. Communicate effectively with management and team members.
7. Must have a willingness to accept change and learn.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Quality Assurance Experience in food/pet food manufacturing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with others across all Midwestern Pet Food facilities.
- Desired: Leadership experience
- Desired: Experience working in food safety and sanitation in a food manufacturing environment.
- Desired: HACCP or Food Safety Plan training.
