Service Advisor
The Service Advisor provides estimated cost analysis of automotive repairs, parts and routine maintenance. Through effective communication with customers, determines the services necessary and determines the time needed for vehicle repair. Work Schedule Monday-Friday (no weekends) 7:30am-4:30am. Base salary, plus commission
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Listens to customer account of issues and vehicle symptoms
- Schedules appointments and answer phones
- Order parts from Vendors
- Maintains parts inventory
- Provides concierge support for customer inquiries, on the phone or in person
- Perform vehicle walk around and accurately document customer concerns to enable the Technician to diagnose and service the vehicle
- Assist with the coordination of alternate transportation for customers
- Must be able to present and offer repair estimates to customers on required and preventative maintenance services
- Writes up service or repair orders, provides an estimate of labor and time; explains estimate to customer
- Obtains customers approval to complete the work
- When required, obtains customer authorization for needed repairs beyond original agreed upon estimate
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Follows-up on progress of repair work and updates customers of any delays.
- Informs and updates Service Manager as to shop capacity, activity, and any unusual customer or service issues.
- Schedules and distributes work to ensure the shop is running at maximum efficiency,
REQUIREMENTS:
- Preference for previous experience in Automotive Dealership as Service Advisor or similar role
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver License with good driving history
- Good computer skill will work routinely with word, excel, and dealership software
- Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to interface effectively with challenging customers, define and resolve most problems
- Able to interact effectively with a variety of people and personalities
- Ability to communicate complicated automotive processes to customer who may only have basic automotive knowledge
- Continuing education and knowledge on the function and repair of vehicles
- Good organization and follow-up skills
