Position: US Tomahawk Administrative & Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
Nature of Role: This position is part of a team that provides administrative and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for US Submarine Tomahawk programs. This work will be performed on site in Newport RI, there is some telework available.
Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
- Understand the acquisition process within the Information Technology industry to actively participate among the project team with document creation.
- Attend client meetings to track with process design, requirements gathering efforts, and to know external stakeholders.
- Merge multiple author voices into one, suggesting document reorganization as needed, researching and verifying facts, thorough rewriting, edit written material for clarity, flow, proper English, and unobtrusive grammar.
- Working with technology leaders and teams; manage a portfolio of diverse writing projects. Contribute the right mix of technical knowledge, technical writing skills, and creativity to deliver documentation in the most suited format.
- Perform research, writing, editing, and document production and coordination on a variety of projects. Work closely with original authors or internal clients to enhance the content of a document.
- Comprehend technical deliverable requirements and process requirements to determine documentation format in support of project management. Understand program/project methodologies, processes, procedures and internal controls.
- Review BYG-1 documentation in regards to TTWCS Strike requirements to include Engineering Change Instructions (ECI)
- Understand the Product Data Tracker (PDT) process to include reviewing documents for impacts to the Tomahawk related documents.
- Assist with updates and configuration management of the following TWS documentation:
- Submarine Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) User s Guide (TUG)
- Coordinated Training Node (CTN) User s Guide Variants
- Supporting USN Surface, SSGN and SSN customers
- Supporting Royal Australian Navy (RAN) customers
- Supporting Mid-Range Capabilities (MRC) customer
- Supporting Long-Range Fires (LRF) customer
- Potential for additional variants/stakeholders
- Attend the following onsite TWS ILS meetings:
- ILS Weekly Meeting with NSWC-PHD weekly
- Biweekly ILS Meeting with NSWC-PHD
- Monthly RAN ILS Meeting with NSWC-PHD and PMA-280
- Biweekly MRC ILS Meeting with NSWC-PHD and PMA-280
- Biweekly LRF ILS Meeting with NSWC-PHD and PMA-280
- Attend Validation/Verification Meetings at NSWC Port Hueneme, CA
- The individual requires NMCI SIPR.
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant technical/tactical documentation writing experience is required.
- Have and/or be able to build a basic understanding of Tomahawk hardware and software.
- Have and/or be able to build a basic understanding of Tomahawk policies/procedures.
- Member needs to have the ability to multi-task and quickly learn/apply new information.
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with US Naval operations and tactical/technical publications to include Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM).
- Willingly integrates with team members.
- Willing to follow instructions but has critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills with emphasis in grammar and punctuation.
- Prior military experience preferred (Preferably a prior submarine Fire Control Technician) or bachelor s level degree in any field with 5 to 7 years of experience in ILS/Systems Engineering.
- Experience with US Naval operations and tactical/technical publications to be able to translate over to FMS cases.
