Position: CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST
Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Specialist works with System Engineering personnel to incorporate official cybersecurity requirements and security best practices into the development of networked and stand-alone IT systems. Specific job tasks and requirements include:
- Prepare detailed reports and standard artifacts in support of high-quality DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment & Authorization (A&A) package submissions
- Assess and document security posture of IT systems using approved tools and techniques
- Identify and communicate mitigation and remediation strategies.
- Perform system scanning, patching and hardening in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Creatively adapt guidance to unique situations and implement custom cybersecurity strategies and solutions.
- Respond to and collaborate with assigned reviewers to provide additional information requests.

Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of full-time information security experience.
- Candidate must be actively pursuing or possess the CompTIA Security certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance

- Experience implementing security control frameworks (e.g. NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001)
- Working knowledge of the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to evaluate cybersecurity capabilities and optimize security investments.
Work Location: Newport RI, no telework available.
