Purchasing Agent:

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in supporting our residential construction projects. This role will work closely with the Purchasing Department on a variety of functions, including but not limited to what is listed below:
- Bidding new projects.
- Creating project budgets.
- Following up on and revising quotes.
- Uploading bids to Buildertrend.
- Verifying Plans, Selections, and Option sheets to ensure accuracy of material orders.
- Preparing and processing POs for materials and services.
- Materials take-off.
- Setting up and finding new vendors.
- Negotiating and tracking material increases and generating reports.
- Resolving issues with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ordering and returning materials.
- Reconciling invoices with vendors.
- Checking and ordering office supplies.
- Managing a set of categories becoming a subject matter expert.
- Entering negotiations with trade partners by reviewing bids and establishing pricing.
- Managing and monitoring supplier performance.
- Ability to enjoy what you do even in a busy, fast paced environment.
- Miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous construction industry experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience in working directly with subcontractors and project managers.
- Previous experience working with vendors or strong customer service background.
- MS Office skills including Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects at a time.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening requirements.
Additional Skills preferred:
- Experience with Construction Management applications such as Buildertrend.
- Experience with take-off and estimating software such as PlanSwift.
- Ability to forecast and plan material and labor increases.
- Expertise to create and review project budget.
