Role Summary:
The Inventory Control/Receiving Clerk is responsible for counting, receiving, verifying, recording, and putting away product and/or materials at our Brooklyn Park facility and external warehouse. This position is also responsible for monitoring inventory and correcting any problems as they are discovered to ensure that inventory is accurately maintained. The Inventory Control/Receiving Clerk reports directly to the Inventory Supervisor.
Schedule
Days: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Areas of Accountability:
- Stage components (inserts, WIP, etc.) for upcoming production runs.
- Return components when production runs are complete. Ability to consolidate product to maximize space utilization.
- Perform cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy – escalate/correct problems as they are discovered so that inventory location and quantity accuracy is maintained to ensure smooth flow of materials/goods.
- Receive Product: Sign for and inspect incoming product; Verify accuracy and count of product received, correct inaccuracies as discovered; Place received items into stock, update inventory, and maintain documentation.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
- Work cross-functionally to support various departments inventory needs and participate in improvement initiatives/projects.
- Participate in and complete improvement projects in conjunction with supervisor.
- Follow all quality and safety procedures.
- Upon qualification, may be required to drive dock truck to and from main facility and off-site warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous inventory control/receiving experience.
- Previous handheld scanner experience to move and/or track inventory in an ERP system.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow both verbal and written directions – ability to work independently after receiving instruction/tasks.
- Strong organization skills – must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
- Familiar with forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Strong math skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IQMS software experience.
