Position Title: Manager, Volunteer Engagement
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Salary: $64,000.04-$66,000.22

Location: Primarily based out of our Denver office at 711 Park Ave W, Denver, CO 80205. 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position is $64,000.04-$66,000.22 annually. In an effort to increase equity and to avoid unfair bias historically associated with salary negotiations, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.
How You'll Help
The Manager, Volunteer Engagement, will manage Mile High United Way volunteerism and all corporate volunteer activities including the Volunteer Center, onsite activities, Affinity Group engagements, skill-based volunteerism and corporate requests. The manager will work cross-departmentally to develop Mile High United Way volunteer events that align with our Community Impact work and strategic initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the Volunteer Center including all volunteer activities and projects associated with the center.
- Facilitate and manage all skills-based volunteer opportunities.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Mile High United Way signature volunteer events.
- Continuously assess the impact of volunteering - working to actively convert volunteers to donors.
- Create a strategic plan for community thought leadership including an ongoing communication and outreach plan.
- Manage logistics for all volunteer activities with corporate and community partners in alignment with Mile High United Way's pathways of engagement and priorities.
- Assist the Strategic Initiatives team in creating Corporate Social Responsibility packages for corporate and community partners including:
- Customized engagements opportunities for groups visiting the Denver area during conferences.
- Create family-friendly volunteer opportunities and curriculum.
Additional Responsibilities
- Create and implement a strategic plan for recruitment and growth for all Mile High United Way volunteers, including skills-based volunteers.
- Present at public speaking engagements in the community related to volunteerism.
- Collaborate with the program team to assess kit build and engagement packages annually to create impactful engagements. Ensuring those changes are communicated to the Resource Development team and Program team.
- Develop and implement an outcome measurement process for evaluating the progress and effectiveness of volunteer engagement projects and strategy.
- Develop knowledge of Mile High United Way donor segments to ensure volunteer offerings are available to all segments.
- Assist with all volunteer event logistics including event promotion, registration, vendors, budget, volunteer communications, volunteer recognition, volunteer surveys, etc.
- Cultivate new solicitations for event sponsors while managing those existing solicitations.
- Work cross-departmentally with Marketing & Communications to ensure appropriate coverage of all Mile High United Way volunteer events.
- Represent and provide information on Mile High United Way volunteer events at major donor events, corporate events, and community-wide events.
- Maintain and manage volunteer budget with monthly report outs of variances.
- Management of volunteer team Salesforce cases
- Manage all kit build activities, specifically larger kit build events for conferences.
What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years' experience with volunteer and/or event management in the non-profit sector.
Specials Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to excel under pressure.
- Substantial event planning and volunteer management experience.
- Strong track record of relationship building particularly with donors and/or volunteers.
- Good oral communication and writing skills, including presentations, public speaking, and written reports.
- Experience soliciting event sponsorships.
- Commitment to excellent and timely customer service in fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Denver metro non-profit community.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Salesforce, Word, Excel, Power Point, and other related software
Working Environment: 60% office; 40% outside meetings. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Activities: Ability to provide personal transportation. Ability to drive Mile High United Way van and other rented vehicles for events. Lift up to 20 pounds.
