The HR Generalist will support all aspects of the human resources function at Milestone Construction Partners, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and employee development. This position will focus on building a positive work culture, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations to help us achieve our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent to ensure the organization meets its workforce needs. Work with managers to align hiring decisions with the company’s strategic goals.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding for new employees, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to succeed. Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for departing employees.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management, resolving conflicts, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with managers to implement and monitor performance management programs, including annual reviews, feedback, and improvement plans. Support managers in addressing performance issues in a constructive and timely manner.
- Ensure the company adheres to federal, state, and local employment laws. Review, update, and communicate company policies to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization.
- Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, including organizing team-building activities, surveys, and other cultural events.
- Coordinate and promote training programs, cross-training initiatives, and professional development opportunities for employees to support both individual and organizational growth.
- Assist in administering employee benefits programs and compensation, including open enrollment, benefits communication, and ensuring that employees understand available offerings.
- Maintain accurate HR records, prepare reports, and ensure all HR processes are documented in accordance with best practices and legal requirements.

- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle employee relations matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Problem-solving abilities with a focus on conflict resolution and proactive solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of HR laws and best practices, including compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, with a commitment to promoting a fair and inclusive work environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR generalist or support role (construction industry experience is a plus)
- HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are highly preferred
