ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Company's subject matter expert on payroll systems and processes. Collaborate vendors to resolve payroll system software issues or expand capabilities.
- Ensure payroll and off-cycle payments are processed timely, accurately and in compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.
- Responsible for payroll submissions, corrections and adjustments.
- Process and maintain payroll records for auditing, reporting and tax filing purposes.
- Serve as point of contact for and timely resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, contractors, government agencies and third parties.
- Collaborate with finance, HR and cross-functional departments on compensation practices / discrepancies, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Implement and improve payroll processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- File payroll tax returns and manage year-end reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Calculate, oversee and administer payroll deductions for benefits, retirement plans and garnishments in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide payroll data to internal teams for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting purposes.
- Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for improvement. Make well-informed decisions and recommendations for improvements to existing or desired processes.
- Assist with developing budgets for operations, maintenance, and facility improvements.
- Conduct regular audits to verify data accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain current, working knowledge of Federal and state payroll laws, industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices.
- Supervise staff assigned to assist with payroll support functions.
