Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ranch Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and experience in ranch operations. As a Ranch Hand, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and well-being of our livestock, as well as assisting with general ranch maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their health.
- Assist with animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal growth and welfare of livestock.
- Handle and manage animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate farm equipment such as tractors and forklifts for various tasks around the ranch.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to feed, supplies, and other materials necessary for ranch operations.
- Maintain accurate records related to animal care and ranch activities using basic math skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in animal care or ranch operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the day.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is beneficial.
- Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on safety and welfare.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary, in various outdoor conditions.
