Position Summary:
As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction, maintenance, and repair of all milk honey locations, ensuring that facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively oversee and optimize maintenance operations to enhance the longevity and functionality of our locations while ensuring the high-end, luxury aesthetic that aligns with our brand standards continues to be upheld in all of our facilities.
This role will have a significant impact on the beautiful, relaxing environments our guests have come to know and love, by serving our employees and guests with thoughtful facility upkeep, maintenance, and improvement, while also ensuring core IT system processes are being maintained as well.
This individual will report to our Chief Executive Officer, with a heavy dotted line relationship with our Director of Operations (who oversees all location operations). Although the role will be based out of our corporate office in central Austin with a hybrid work arrangement, this role will demand some location flexibility, and will require some travel time in our various locations, including some out of town travel required periodically.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Upkeep:
- Oversee all facility maintenance, including preventative maintenance programs and routine inspections.
- Coordinate all repairs in our ten luxury spa locations located in Texas, California, and Illinois, through use of subcontractors, handymen, and other vendor relationships.
- Maintain strong rapport with location managers to ensure proper prioritization and performance of repairs and maintenance items.
- Partner closely with the Director of Operations to ensure all facility needs are met, appropriate communication is distributed, and maintenance-related interruptions to operations are minimized.
- Work with internal design committees and external designers as needed to ensure a high-quality aesthetic is maintained, consistent with milk honey’s design principles.
- Assist in budget planning for maintenance and repairs.
- Provide recommendations on long-term facility upgrades and capital improvements.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Build and manage relationships with reliable, cost-effective contractors and service providers.
- Obtain and oversee bids for repairs, renovations, and specialty projects.
- Ensure all outsourced work is completed to milk honey’s standards and in compliance with company guidelines.
Work Order Management & Prioritization:
- Oversee and manage maintenance requests through tools like Freshdesk and Worksmith.
- Help locations prioritize work orders and coordinate outsourced repairs.
- Assign tasks to in-house maintenance techs for efficient self-performed maintenance.
- Coordinate after-hours repairs as needed.
Construction & Remodel Projects:
- Partner closely with the Chief Executive Officer, architects, general contractors, engineers, interior designers and others to plan construction and remodeling projects for new and existing locations.
- Work with outside partners including project managers as applicable and internal leaders to ensure construction projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate facility improvements while minimizing operational disruptions.
Oversight of Location & Core IT Services:
- Manage one employee who is focused on maintaining IT infrastructure (wifi/internet, computer hardware, music systems, security systems, etc.) and management of company-wide software access and licenses. This individual will serve as a helpdesk resource to locations and headquarters staff, and the Facilities Manager will help this individual prioritize their work, make vendor selection decisions, provide responsive support to location and HQ employees, and will provide overall leadership and direction to this individual.
Operational Efficiency & Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance and construction work complies with safety, health, and building codes.
- Identify and implement facility improvements to enhance guest and employee experience.

Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience with facility management and/or construction project management in a commercial or multi-family setting.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills; able to work cross-functionally with individuals across the organization.
- Strong negotiation and partnering skills demonstrated by a history of work with internal and external parties and stakeholders.
- A strong design sensibility with a desire to maintain and create beautiful spaces, with a significant attention to detail and high attention to a quality finished product.
- Familiarity with business IT needs surrounding hardware, software, networking, and other core IT equipment and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple locations.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and drive innovation.
