MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Die Shop Technician I who is a problem-solver and excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As a Die Shop Technician in the Cutting Department, you will be responsible for preparing all tooling necessary for die-cutting presses, ensuring they are in top condition and ready for use in production.

What will you do in this role?
- Adhere to and promote safe work practices and standards at all times.
- Review daily schedules and prepare tooling as needed for die-cutting operations.
- Interpret and follow instructions from the job ticket to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect all tooling to ensure it is in optimal working condition before use.
- Pull and stage dies for the die cutters as required.
- Properly store tooling after use and document impression counts.
- Maintain cutting dies by purging as necessary.
- Keep the workspace clean and well-organized to promote efficiency and safety.
- Safely operate forklift
- Create spot sheets using the CAD table.
- Identify and initiate solutions to prevent potential problems and document any quality issues.
- Collaborate on problem-solving initiatives, verify the implementation of solutions, and control further processing when issues arise.
- Build cutting dies, stripping boards, blankers, and guillotines from plywood and steel rule using CAD files, hand tools, and machine tools.
- Process rules from the auto bender for die production.
- Operate laser equipment, water jet, BSI Bender and Gerber machines for precise cutting and shaping.
- Comply with all company policies and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform additional tasks as requested
Qualifications

Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read a ruler and micrometer
- Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and operational procedures.
- Problem-solving and analysis abilities involving concrete variables in standard situations.
- Computer Skills Basic computer skills are necessary to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedules, and communicate electronically via email.
- Effective time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to interpret product layouts and production specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and measurements with speed and accuracy.
