This is a unique opportunity to join our team at Mille Lacs County, MN as a Correctional Officer. As a key member of our Sheriff's Office, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our jail facility and its inhabitants.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inmates within the facility, including conducting cell block checks and interacting with them.
- Manage supplies and equipment, including clothing and medication.
- Monitor movement within and outside the facility, including phone communications and emergency response.
- Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings to improve operations and policies.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and two years of experience working in a law enforcement or correctional setting.
- Proficiency in computer skills and ability to operate security systems.
- Ability to work swing shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends with short notice.
- Willingness to relocate inmates to avoid repeat confrontations and maintain order within the facility.
