Job Description

Salary: $50,000 - $65,000

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join of our newest clients in Belcamp, MD 21017. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing various HR responsibilities, with a primary focus on payroll processing, benefits management, and taxation compliance. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of HR functions and a proven ability to efficiently manage payroll and benefits while ensuring compliance with tax and unemployment regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing|

Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and error-free disbursements.

Maintain payroll records, including employee time and attendance data.

Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies, making necessary adjustments.

Benefits Administration|

Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries.

Collaborate with benefit providers to resolve issues and ensure compliance.

Taxation Compliance|

Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance.

Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and reports in a timely manner.

Address tax-related inquiries and liaise with tax authorities as needed.

Unemployment Management|

Manage unemployment claims and responses, working to minimize associated costs.

Provide necessary documentation and represent the company in unemployment hearings when required.

Develop strategies to reduce unemployment claims through effective HR practices.

General HR Duties|

Support the recruitment and onboarding process by posting job listings, conducting interviews, and assisting with new employee orientation.

Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Address employee concerns, providing guidance and support in resolving HR-related issues.

Qualifications|

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong emphasis on payroll and benefits administration.

Proficiency in HR software, payroll processing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional knowledge of employment laws, tax regulations, and unemployment procedures.

Strong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Continuing Education|

Candidates with additional HR-related certifications or ongoing education credits are highly encouraged to apply.
