Assistant Regional Controller (Hotel experience is a MUST)
The Assistant Regional Controller is responsible for providing consistent leadership and support in the financial area by supplying the accounting staff with guidance and training. He/she is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable internal control levels, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners'/investors' assets.
Report to Corporate Director of Finance (Corporate DOF)
Responsibilities:
- Assist Corporate DOF in timely preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned properties and Corporate legal entities.
- Backup regional DOF and Corp DOF when needed.
- Monitor and advise hotel operations, cash flow and operating forecasts for assigned properties.
- Under guidance of Corporate DOF, maintain timely interaction with Department Heads to assure that property operations are on track and under control at all times.
- Assist to conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for corporate legal entities and hotels
- Foster compliance with Millennium Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls for our finance and accounting operations.
- Manage and communicate issues related to management of receivables, payables, daily cash balances, and timely deposits of all funds.
- Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with Millennium Hotel’s established guidelines. Investigate and critique variances to budget/forecast or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
- Analyze financial data and operations in order to achieve financial objectives.
- Train and supervise corporate staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining.
- Assist year end external audit and internal audit.
- Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum recent 5-year experience as a Director of Finance within hotel industry or multi-entity environment is desirable.
- Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
- Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and financial accounting systems (Dynamics 365, ProfitSword and Blackline).
- Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Travel (less than 10%) is required.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
