Lead regional accounting operations, ensuring timely financial reporting, managing resources, driving Sox compliance, and delivering key metrics and support for various financial activities including tax, planning, projects, payroll, and banking, as well as other support functions and operations. *It is anticipated that internal candidates will be selected for this position*

The salary range offered for this role is USD $172,500 to 241,500. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.

Your impact

As part of our team you will
- Lead Regional Accounting work as a whole
- Deliver issuance of monthly and quarterly Financial reporting for internal and external purposes across region
- Lead team members management and Lead Sox program
- Optimize key metrics reporting, support for projects, payroll, banking and accounting treatment, for AFEs and planning, modelling
- Primary point of contact with external auditors for delivering audited statutory financial reporting and joint venture partner reporting
- Support asset divestitures and any required transition service agreements
- Lead the effective use of our ERP and financial reporting tools for the regional accounting activities, including support for system integration projects and integration of new sites/operations as applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting. Master’s degree preferable.
- U.S. CPA or Chartered Accountant equivalent designation required.
- Advanced accounting knowledge
- Significant exposure to all Accounting, Tax and Treasury functions.
- Mining experience – thorough understanding of mining terminology preferred.
- Significant experience in U.S. GAAP financial reporting. Public accounting experience.
- Accounting experience for a multinational resource corporation.Additional professional qualifications/certifications (e.g. CMA, CFA etc).
- Experience or exposure to Hyperion and EllipseSAP and BPC.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, demanding environment. Strong communication skills. Fluent in English.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership ability.
- Demonstrated team building and people development skills.
- The primary location for this position is Denver, CO. However, qualified candidates in proximity to our regional office in Vancouver, BC may also be considered.
- The applicable salary range for this position if hired in Canada is CAD $180,000 to $252,000
