Purchasing and Planning Specialist

Millennium Machine and Tool is looking for a long-term individual with the ability to take on additional tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will be flexible enough to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment while working to improve processes as our company continues to grow.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create work orders based on customer PO’s and forecasts.
• Accurately set up job routings for new parts.
• Generate POs for raw materials based on customer requirements.
• Work with vendors to ensure best price & lead time for raw materials.
• Communicate with customers and vendors via phone and/or email.
• Communicate internally to support production process.
• Maintain files and documentation. Primarily customer drawings and revisions.
• Assist with POs for outside processing.
• Assist with Year End Inventory.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to read customer drawings and determine job requirements.
• Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Excel.
• Manufacturing and/or accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with JobBoss ERP system is beneficial.

• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy is a must.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
• High level of initiative.
• Positive attitude.

Work Experience / Education - Preferred:

• Two years’ purchasing experience is preferred.

Expected hours: 40 per week
