Do you have a background with engines, motors, gears, and mechanical systems from various fields—whether from working on engines, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery? This could translate perfectly to mastering our precision die-cutting operations. We value candidates who can look at a machine, understand its inner workings, and apply that mechanical intuition to our specialized equipment!
Shift Details:
- Hours: 7pm - 7am on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (2-2-3-2) Night Shift
- Training: 2-3 months day shift training period
What You'll Do
- Machine Mastery: Operate and optimize the Bobst / Die Cutting Machine with precision, leveraging your expertise from automotive repair, engine work, construction or industrial machinery operation
- Technical Setup: Review Job Ticket specifications to accurately configure the machine and prepare necessary materials
- Mechanical Troubleshooting: Apply your natural curiosity about mechanical systems to diagnose issues, make adjustments, and optimize performance
- Production Excellence: Establish proper machine speeds and settings, securing supervisor approval before full production
- Quality Assurance: Conduct sample testing to verify paper properties and ensure production accuracy through continuous comparison to standards
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of production metrics while completing Bindery Logs and Die Cutter Tracking Forms
- Equipment Care: Monitor machinery for safety concerns, request maintenance when needed, and perform regular cleaning procedures
- Collaborative Operations: Work effectively with supervisors and team members to achieve department objectives
What You'll Bring
- Mechanical Inclination: Natural aptitude for understanding how machines work, with hands-on ability to adjust, calibrate, and optimize equipment
- Technical Curiosity: Genuine interest in exploring mechanical principles and applying them to improve machine performance
- Mechanical Diverse Experience: Background working with various types of machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems across different environments (manufacturing, automotive, construction, etc.)
- Diverse Equipment Operation: Demonstrated success operating Bobst / Die Cutting Machines or similar equipment, with additional experience in construction machinery, automotive systems, or industrial equipment operation
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, job specifications, and mechanical troubleshooting across different mechanical platforms
- Precision Focus: Exceptional attention to detail with commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Team Communication: Effective collaboration skills in a fast-paced production environment
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are advantageous
