We are seeking highly motivated interns to join our world-class team for the summer of 2025 and help create the future of affordable, high-reliability space systems. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated practical problem-solving experience in their hobbies, academic projects, and/or previous internships.
As a Summer Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the design, integration, and testing of cutting-edge satellite systems. This internship is ideal for students who are passionate about space technology and eager to apply their technical skills in a collaborative environment.. This includes creating, monitoring, and guiding requirements definition, spacecraft design, procurement and fabrication, integration and test, and verification and validation of the overall space vehicle system. You will interact with subsystem and unit engineers, manufacturing and test personnel, and program management. You will learn and manage the technical elements of the space vehicle system. Our spacecraft systems engineers create spacecraft -- not just paperwork!

Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineering intern, you can expect to be involved in any of the following:
- Systems Engineering Support
- Assist in developing and maintaining system requirements, interfaces, and verification plans
- Contribute to systems-level trade studies to support design decisions
- Help manage documentation and configuration control for system designs
- Design and Analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze system performance and ensure compliance with mission objectives
- Apply model-based systems engineering techniques for the definition of the spacecraft system.
- Integration and Testing
- Support the assembly, integration, and functional testing of satellite hardware and subsystems
- Assist in preparing test procedures, executing tests, and documenting results
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during system integrations
- Project and Process Improvement
- Contribute to the development of tools, templates, or processes to improve team efficiency
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to share ideas and feedback
- Technical Documentation
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Completion of upper-division coursework in systems engineering, spacecraft design, or equivalent technical subjects
- Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering principles such as requirements development, trade studies, and verification planning
- Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB, Python, or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing technical reports or presentations
- Passion for space technology and interest in working on small satellite systems
- $20.67/hr - $48.08/hr
