Job Summary
We are seeking highly motivated interns to join our world-class team for the summer of 2025 and help create the future of affordable, high-reliability space systems. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated practical problem-solving experience in their hobbies, academic projects, and/or previous internships.
This internship opportunity supports the Spacecraft Thermal Responsible Engineering Authority through assistance with spacecraft thermal system configurations, designs, analyses, testing, and flight operations. Spacecraft thermal subsystem elements include all passive and active means of controlling the satellite’s system, subsystem, and component environments within both operating and survival limits during all pertinent system lifetime activities. Thermal engineering interns also have the opportunity to support Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blanket fabrication, and installation.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform spacecraft thermal design and analyses at the board, component, and subsystem level
- Develop thermal models to predict thermal loads, impacts, and temperature margins to support system designs
- Support thermal verification testing on spacecraft components and systems, including test-setup design, test procedure execution, data analysis, and report generation
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree.
- Applicants must be returning to school following the end of their summer internship.
- Familiarity with using thermal analysis tools (FEA/FDM/CFD) such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA, COMSOL, ABAQUS or similar
- Preliminary knowledge of the thermal control subsystem for spacecraft
- Taken a collegiate-level heat transfer course with knowledge of radiative heat transfer
- $20.67/hr - $48.08/hr
