OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Parts Associate Lead plays an extremely important role in customer satisfaction and the overall continued success of Miller Auto. The position is responsible for, but not limited to, leading the parts associates in the Lincoln/Nissan department, training, implementation and oversight of parts department procedures. Also will include selling parts to customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone, maintaining all incoming and outgoing parts. Acknowledging customers, meeting their needs and providing quality service in a timely and professional manner.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Parts Lead Duties:
Be the go to individual for Parts Associates questions related to daily tasks and procedures.
Assist Parts Manager with staff training as needed.
Assist Parts Manager with implementation of parts department policies and procedures.
Parts Associate Duties:
Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, providing price quotes and other information.
Assist all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Notify the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
Communicate with Technicians on necessary parts, order and distribute parts in a timely manner.
Notify other departments when parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
Maintain association with all applicable vendors and clients.
Pull and fill orders from stock.
Notify manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
Make policy/price adjustments within the guidelines established by management.
Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
Participate in all training programs that are made available.
Keep current on new products and product updates.
Manage and maintain inventory in an orderly and professional manor.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all work area, parts stocking and storage areas.
Maintain and execute health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures at all times. Including, but not limited to company expectations, state and federal laws, OSHA, Red Flags, Privacy and OFAC.
Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be presentable and professional appearing at all times
Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
High School Diploma or equivalent required
3 - 5 years applicable experience preferred
2 years applicable experience required
Good organizational skills and time management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening skills
Knowledge of relevant computer applications
Multi-line product knowledge
