Position: IT Helpdesk Technician
Job Summary:
This position will work under the direction of the Information Technology Director and will have a number of responsibilities with the IT department of our family-owned growing construction company. Working within our team of IT professionals will provide a great opportunity to provide exceptional service to our user base and assist in the expansion of our IT systems
Responsibilities:
- Position will report to the IT Helpdesk Lead
- Work with End Users and Managers to support business applications
- Learn MBC Systems, policies, and applications
- Help ensure the MBC IT Framework is being followed both inside the IT department and with end users in business units
- Collaborate with other IT personnel to align helpdesk support
- Ensure Help Desk Tickets are correctly assigned and coordinate the communication and resolution of tickets
- Provide training to users on the proper procedures and processes to use software applications.
- Track time and work tickets in BOSS desk software
- Assist with Projects as assigned
- Keep accurate inventory records, device and asset assignments
- Deploy devices including phones, tablets, and computers using the framework provided
- Provide training to users on IT hardware and software
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or with a Team
- Self-motivated, detail and result oriented, with strong analytical skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills within defined framework
- Some overnight travel may be required (25%)
- Occasional after hours and weekend work required
- Familiar with Mobile Device Management and iOS platform
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent education and related training
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and use a lift (safety training provided)
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Detail work with hands such as pulling cables, making connections/terminations of wiring; use of hand or power tools
- Ability to walk through jobsites on uneven terrain, at times working under structures or in attics and confined spaces
