Industrial Rubber Lining Specialist is responsible for applying rubber linings to various industrial equipment, tanks, pipes, and surfaces to provide corrosion, chemical, and abrasion protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rubber Lining Application:
- Measure, cut, and apply rubber linings to the internal and external surfaces of industrial equipment (e.g., tanks, pipes, valves).
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure proper adhesion of rubber linings.
- Use specialized tools and techniques to fit and adhere rubber linings to various surfaces, including vulcanization or bonding as required.
- Inspection and Quality Control:
- Inspect surfaces before application to identify potential defects or imperfections.
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of lined surfaces to ensure proper adhesion, thickness, and coverage.
- Perform spark testing or other non-destructive testing methods to verify the integrity of the lining.
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform maintenance on existing rubber linings by inspecting for damage and conducting necessary repairs or replacements.
- Use patching, sealing, or re-lining techniques as needed for worn-out areas.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), in accordance with workplace safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) guidelines for rubber linings.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of lining work, including materials used, time taken, and inspection reports.
- Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding job progress, any issues, and final inspection results.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in rubber lining, coating applications, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of materials used in rubber lining (natural and synthetic rubbers) and different application techniques.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to industrial equipment and environments.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces or heights.
- Willingness to work in various industrial environments, such as factories, mines, or chemical plants.
- TWIC
- Satisfactory background within seven (7) years.
- DISA drug screening
Work Environment: The role may require work in harsh conditions, such as high-temperature environments, confined spaces, and areas exposed to chemicals. Protective gear is mandatory, and physical stamina is important due to the demanding nature of the job.
