Service Mechanic- Heavy Equipment Diesel

Summary:

Our Heavy Equipment Service Mechanic, examines, diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs diesel-powered machinery, vehicles and equipment in our shop and away from the shop environment. Using a company provided mobile service truck, they will travel on site to perform any work scheduled if required.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Diesel engine repairs, preventive maintenance, and servicing
• Ensure appropriate parts are identified and ordered for service and repairs
• Maintain up-to-date service records for all work carried out
• Minimize downtime of equipment through quality service and repair work
• Champion safety every day so that everyone goes home safe and well
• Heavy equipment repair, Vehicle and trailer maintenance, PM service, small repairs, and DOT compliance
• Light fabrication and welding
• Workshop management
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but not limited to engines, hydraulics, transmissions and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Follow procedures including documenting work performed.
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.
• Must be a self-starter and detail oriented.
• ASE certification or completion of related vocational program

Experience

· 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair (Preferred)

· Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Compensation and benefits:

Pay options: $38-43/Hour (with opportunity for overtime)

At Miller Wall we solve client’s problems by building MSE retaining walls. Grade change, slope stability, road access, building pad.- We do this and more with all types of MSE walls. Small Block, Panel, Wire Basket, Big Block (Redi-Rock, Stone Strong), and reinforced soil slope are all in our toolbox. We work in Homebuilder, Commercial, and DOT markets.
