Job Summary/Basic Function
The Full-Time Assistant Football Coach is to assist the Head Football Coach with the daily operations of conducting a successful Football program, specifically serving as the offensive coordinator.
Contract renewed on annual basis.

Duties and Responsibilities
Report to the Head Football Coach and assist in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the team’s program. Specific duties are listed below:
- Coach all aspects of the offensive unit, including but not limited to, game planning, scouting reports, film sessions, practice planning, and offensive player personnel.
- Coach a position group and handle all academic, social and athletic details associated with the players in that group.
- Assists in the development and implementation of a successful recruitment plan of prospective student athletes.
- Assist in the development of the offensive game plans.
- Preforms video editing tasks for practice, game and opponent video.
- Review practice and game video with coaches and players. Grade player performance.
- Maintains accurate records of student athletes’ academic and athletic lives & monitors athlete’s social media sites.
- Assists in maintenance, purchasing and inventory of team’s equipment.
- Assists in all fund raising efforts and attends all meetings, practices and team functions.
- Pass the NCAA DII rules exams & performs off campus recruiting.
- Is aware of and compliant with all NCAA, PSAC and Millersville University rules and regulations.
- Assists the head coach in all internal requirements of the football program as assigned.
- Submit monthly work schedules to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and comply with schedule once approved.
- Attend appropriate Athletic departmental staff meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two seasons of successful offensive coaching experience at the NCAA collegiate level.
- Successful experience and/or knowledge of recruiting prospective Student-athletes.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting student-athlete welfare and academic success.
- Demonstrated excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate student-athletes.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Evidence of recruiting and working effectively with student-athletes of diverse races and cultures.
- Evidence of complying fully with association and conference regulations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the PSAC and Division II football
- Recruiting experience in PA and Mid Atlantic Region.
- Successful experience as an offensive coordinator.
- Successful experience as a quarterback coach at the NCAA collegiate level.
- Knowledge of Teamworks and Compliance Hub.
Essential Functions
- Indoor and outdoor facilities.
- Understanding of written directions.
- Extensive writing skills (prepare and organize complex documents)
- Extensive verbal communication skills (provide information and assistance regularly).
- Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive university vehicles.
