Job Summary / Basic Function
The Music Department is looking for degree peer mentors. Two for each degree program :
- Music Education
- Music Industry
- Bachelor of Arts in Music
Required Qualifications
MUST be a music major
Sufficient knowledge of musical terms to proficiently educate music studentsAble to teach the fundamentals of the art of musicCritical thinking skills associated with reading and writing musicMust be able to work independently and self-drivenMust be punctual, dependable and trustworthyPerformance experience with a variety of instrumentsKnowledgeable of all majors, class requirements, and the program in generalAbility to mentor as a positive role modelMust complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints).Preferred Qualifications

Follow UNIV 130 Syllabus and schedule meeting with first year students to supplement class instructionFocus on the following topics from a student perspectiveWeekly schedule

Continue encouraging the application of time management and organizational techniques taught in the FallFocus of the following topics from a student perspectiveReview Fall materials
