Job Summary/Basic Function
The Office of Financial Aid is seeking a student to provide a variety of tasks to assist the office.
Required Qualifications
- Must be reliable, dependable, and able to follow instructions and work independently, using pre-established guidelines
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Customer service skills
- Willingness to ask questions when something is not known
- Ability to speak clearly and professionally
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to perform varied duties
- Ability to multitask and work with multiple projects at one time
- Work well independently and in a team setting
- Can maintain at least a 2.25 GPA (cumulative)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an office setting
- Reflect the diversity of our student population
- Bilingual or Multi-lingual
- Due to the extensive training involved, preference is given to applicants who are able to work, not only during the fall and spring semesters but also over the winter and summer breaks.
Job Duties
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Answer general emails in the Financial Aid inbox
- Scanning/indexing documents into OnBase imaging system
- Customer service tasks such as:
- Answering emails, working referrals, taking messages, and scheduling appointments accordingly
- Greeting walk-in guests and answering general financial aid questions
- Access general information in Banner system
- Organize, stamp, and deliver documentation to an appropriate staff member
- Outreach to students (telephone, email)
- Occasionally assist with data entry
- Assist students with outstanding requirements
- Assemble mailings
- Filing
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift
