Job Summary/Basic Function
The office of the Dean for the College of Science and Technology is looking for students
to chaperone participants during the 2025 Summer Science Training Program (SSTP).

Job Duties
Task may included but are not limited to:
- Meet students each morning at 8:30 a.m. at Creek Drive parking lot (see attached map), complete student attendance sheets, bring student lunches to the dean’s office (Caputo 206) in the morning, escort students from one workshop to another, supervise them all day, and see them off at 4:00 p.m. in the Creek Drive parking lot, making sure that students are not stranded. Two assistants must remain until all students have departed.
- Be available to students for help of any kind, to befriend them, and, at the same time, maintain discipline among them.
- Assist Program Director(s) with incidental duties.
- Meet with instructors prior to each workshop for instructions, assist with set up of workshops and assist instructor as needed. This may require that one student assistant briefly leave a session in progress to confer with a faculty member.
- Help maintain discipline during workshops and assist students during the workshop as needed.
- Retrieve student lunches from the dean’s office and stay with students during the lunch hour (groups can eat outside or in the Caputo Hall lobby depending on the weather). Make certain students arrive at their afternoon workshop on time.
- Always be responsible to the Program Director(s) and report any issues to them immediately.
- Collect, read, and review notebooks of student participants.
- Ensure that (2) staff members are always present with the students.
- Assist Program Director(s) with program evaluation and “wrap-up” as needed .
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Be able to sit/stand and use a computer for the length of shift.
