Job Summary / Basic Function
The Career Center / Mentorship Office seeks students to serve as peer mentors. Peer Mentors are enthusiastic representatives of Millersville University who commit to being a resource for students. Peer Mentors address students’ questions, which may include what it is really like to be a student at MU, how to manage time effectively, how to get involved on campus, and other questions related to the college transition. Required Qualifications
- Enrolled Millersville University Student
- Have completed at least 24 credits at MU
- Minimum GPA 2.0
- Available to work five hours per month for a full academic year, from August-May
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and a willingness to accept responsibility
- Demonstrate role model behavior. Candidates must be in good disciplinary standing. Personal Conduct Probation or a Disciplinary Reprimand within the last twelve months disqualifies you for the position.
- Willing to maintain confidentiality
- Willing to complete three background clearances : PA State Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Federal Criminal History Fingerprinting
