Job Summary / Basic Function
The Department of Early, Middle, and Elementary Education in the College of Education and Human Services welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August .
Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work and department and university service. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs. The College of Education, Department of Early, Middle, and Elementary Education, is seeking to add a collaborative and creative colleague for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor who shares the University and College’s commitment to high quality literacy training, specifically structured literacy, potentially middle level literacy, and ESL, and has a demonstrated record of teaching, research / scholarship and service in a literacy / ESL education context. This position is a nine-month faculty appointment starting January or August . The expected teaching load is four courses per fall and spring semesters, with the possibility to teach during the summer semesters based on departmental and enrollment needs. Additionally, this position includes teaching at the graduate level, in an M.Ed. in Language and Literacy with a reading specialist and / or ESL specialist certification / concentration.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the .
Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate include having an earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.
