Your Role
MilliporeSigma is looking for a Laboratory Manufacturing Supervisor – Genomics at our 3050 Spruce Street location, to fill a position in the Functional Genomics Operations Group where we:
- Provide leading functional genomics technologies including RNA interference (shRNA) for gene silencing and cutting-edge systems for gene editing and gene knockout (CRISPR/Cas9, ZFN’s).
- Manufacture made to order products in Bacterial, DNA, RNA and Viral formats for Academic, Pharma and Research centers.
- Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales and Bioinformatics teams on development, transfer and manufacturing of existing and new products.
- Responsible for all Manufacturing, QC, Packaging and Shipping.

- Ensure subordinates are trained for the tasks and processing expected.
- Lead by example and motivate through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and communication of company values.
- Encourage/assist development toward individual career objectives or potential consistent with company needs. Evaluate employee performance and provide timely feedback.
- Organizes the group's efforts and oversee production processes. Schedule tasks and processes to meet department and company objectives, which include scheduling personnel, equipment, and ordering raw materials.
- Maintain awareness of general area operations to ensure that resources (personnel and facility/equipment) are effectively used. Ensure tasks are completed properly and that processes are consistent with operating procedures and quality guidelines.
- Pro-actively review Safety Procedures, MMFs, Operating Procedures, etc. for inconsistencies and errors and modify as appropriate in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all various state, federal and company regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA, NRC, etc).
- Identify, evaluate and implement process improvements and expand group's abilities through subordinates. Encourage collaboration between subordinates and other groups. Identify, evaluate, and implement PDSA's.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.)
- 7 years’ in a laboratory/production environment
- 2 years’ supervisory/lead experience
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in Mammalian cell culture and Colony Forming Unit and Selection Assays, Elisa, Flow Cytometry, Cloning, NGS and Sangar Sequencing
- Experience in Virus Production and Concentration technique, DNA/RNA Purification, Primer design & PCR
- Experience in Electroporation/Nucleofection, Restriction digestion, liquid handling systems/robotics (Biomek, Tecan)
- 2D barcode scanners & tube pickers, UV/VIS & Fluorescent plate readers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Familiarity with LIMS, SAP, Trackwise and Mango systems
- Troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling methods and ISO quality standards
