The position works on-site in Jackson, MS with regular hours from 6:00am - 2:30pm with a half-hour unpaid lunch break.

Job Duties
- Mowing, weeding, trimming, seeding and related duties in assigned areas
- Assist with cleaning streets, parking lots, flower beds, grounds areas, etc.
- Assist with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
- Assist in chemical and fertilizer applications on turf, trees, and shrubs
- Assist with maintenance of synthetic and natural grass athletic fields
- Delivery and physical set-up/takedown of furniture and equipment for campus events
- Provide support and manpower as directed to other Facilities Management Departments
- Some overtime will be required as directed
- Cultivate collaborative working relationships and a positive rapport with the diverse constituencies across the Millsaps community, including Facilities Management personnel, housekeeping, students, faculty and staff.
- Communicate problem situations as required in the best interest of clients and Millsaps.
- Contribute to the success of the Facilities Department by performing all other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience with or knowledge of ground maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of heavy and light equipment.
- Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and communication.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours on a full-time schedule, including some weekends.
- This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks without restriction including, but not limited to lifting, sweeping, mopping, climbing ladders, operating equipment, and moving furniture and supplies.
- Must be able to bend, lift, twist and stand, engage in repetitive motion, and to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy items up to 50 pounds without assistance and be able to engage in intense physical activity as needed.
