We are currently hiring for multiple positions that is based on qualifications and experience. Please read below for description of each position available:
Estimator Roles and Responsibilities
Estimator A: Weekly Combined Bid Total $0-150k (Hourly Rate: $20 – $25.99)
Estimator A is expected to:
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Meet attendance requirements, including flexible hours, reliability, and punctuality.
- Navigate architectural drawings with ease.
- Understand various notes and symbols on pages.
- Navigate detail sheets, sections, and elevations without confusion.
- Possess or be willing to learn knowledge in architectural millwork.
- Conduct product research online efficiently.
- Use Excel, Outlook, and Word to create proposals for review.
- Break down all materials, labor, and overhead costs for review.
- Manage time effectively without disturbing others.
Basic Functions of Estimator A:
- Communicate with vendors/subcontractors via calls/emails for RFIs and maintain professional client communication.
- Identify and confirm millwork items and familiarize with Millwork Brothers' scope of work.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and proposal preparation.
- Conduct in-depth research on products, materials, and fabrication for accurate bidding.
- Log and take notes to improve future estimates.
- Demonstrate competent mathematical and organizational skills.
- Adapt and communicate effectively with clients.
Estimator II: Weekly Combined Bid Total $160k-300k (Hourly Rate: $26 – $30.99)
Estimator II should accomplish everything Estimator A does, plus:
- Be proficient in computer usage, especially Bluebeam.
- Accurately type proposals based on architectural plans, design renderings, and hand sketches with minimal information or direction from designers, GCs, or architects.
- Exhibit logical problem-solving skills to develop estimates/budgets for millwork projects.
- Pay close attention to detail.
- Ensure no revisions for missed items on the original bid, except for GC-added requests.
- Have a basic understanding of labor hour counts and installation time for projects/items.
- Submit work for proposal review by leadership two days prior to the GC/client due date.
- Respond to all emails swiftly and at minimum within 24 hours.
- Multitask and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure satisfactory project completion.
- Utilize Procore to find relevant information for bids and submit RFIs as needed.
- Format emails and proposals according to Millwork Brothers standards
Estimator 3: weekly, combined bid total 451k-700k (HR $31 – $36.99)
Accomplish everything Estimator A and Estimator 2 plus:
- Able to speak tactfully to GC, Clients, Architects etc., regarding any Millwork Brothers scope of work.
- Can create an accurate proposal and be able to back up the numbers with research and thorough thought process for review.
- Has a vast knowledge of millwork carpentry, fabrication and installation processes and time.
- Must be resourceful and use ALL tools available to research products and produce a competitive bid/proposal consistently.
- Must be able to cope under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Able to stay late as needed to submit important bids/proposals for review.
- Fully fluent in architectural and shop grade drawings.
Estimator E: weekly, combined bid total 701k (HR $37 – $44.99)
Accomplish everything Estimator A, 2, 3 plus:
- Able to come up with logical, safe and sound engineering ideas to save cost when client request a reduction in pricing. (Value Engineer).
- Come up with logical, safe and sound engineering ideas when details are limited on drawings or sketches.
- Full knowledge of material performance and tolerances.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $44.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
