Description
We are looking for an Engineering Intern in our Test department for the Summer of 2025 who can work full-time, onsite, with employment starting in June. Ideally the intern would be able to stay on part-time during the 2025/2026 school year. We are located at 1301 W. Canal Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
Summary:
Assist in conducting environmental, operational or performance tests on systems or sub-systems which may include electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic components and/or experimental products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Perform operational and functional phases of tests.
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
- Perform testing on materials, sub-systems and assemblies; in some cases may develop and document testing methods. Assure tests are completed in accordance with procedures and within allowable limits where applicable.
- Collect data from a variety of test transducer types (load cells, LVDTs, strain gages, color meters, CMMs). May need to resolve any issues that may arise including product or system malfunction, data collection, incomplete test data, and data interpretation.
- Analyze and document results in official reporting templates.
- Prepare technical reports for use by engineering, quality assurance, sales, etc. to document the results of a test. May also interact with external customers regarding testing, results, and analyses
- Perform recurring product or component audits as requested.
Qualifications
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering (prefer Mechanical or Civil) and will have completed Sophomore year by May 2025.
- Ability to work full-time during June, July and August 2025. Open to the potential to work on a limited part-time basis during the school year.
- Strong desire to pursue a Testing & Analysis Engineering career track.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
- Must be dependable, resourceful and responsive under pressure in a time sensitive environment.
