Job Description
Career-focused houseparents at Milton Hershey School serve as caregivers for groups of 8-12 students, providing a family-like structure and guidance. The role requires married couples to manage daily responsibilities, including driving and administering medication, in a supportive educational environment. Couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you and your spouse should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. You must abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, limit pets, and have a valid driver's license to drive student home vans. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
