About the Position
The Youth Development Specialist position at Milton Hershey School involves serving as a flex houseparent, providing guidance and support for a group of disadvantaged youth in a nurturing family-like environment. As a flex houseparent, you will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive living space for students, handling daily tasks such as driving, administering medication, and maintaining a household budget. You will also have the opportunity to develop educational opportunities for students and participate in their academic growth.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must be a married couple who has been legally married for at least two years. Both spouses should be 27 years or older, and you should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You will also need a valid driver's license and the ability to become certified to drive student home vans. Additionally, you must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
