We're seeking married couples to join our community as flex houseparents at Milton Hershey School. As a flex houseparent, you'll play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal growth of our students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
About the Position
This is a unique opportunity for couples to work together as a team, using their skills and experience to provide guidance, support, and care for 8-12 students. You'll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students and be part of a close-knit community.
As a flex houseparent, you'll be responsible for daily devotions, taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services, and handling tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. You'll also provide a consistent family-like structure for students and cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, couples must be legally married for at least two years, have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings, and both spouses should be age 27 or older. Couples are also required to abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus and have limitations on pets.
