At Milton Hershey School, our Houseparent couples play a vital role in providing a family-like atmosphere for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a Houseparent couple, you will live in on-campus homes with your spouse and care for approximately 8-12 students, creating a stable and nurturing environment that fosters academic success and personal growth. Schedule and Benefits
Our Houseparent couples enjoy a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with workdays including a period of personal time while students are at school. They also receive a salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple) and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; and retirement savings.
Qualifications
We seek experienced individuals who have worked or volunteered with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be age 27 or older, married for at least two years, and comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required. High school diploma or GED is necessary, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
