What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Guidance Counselors position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become flex houseparents. As part of our residential program, you will reside in on-campus student homes and provide a consistent family-like structure for students. You will handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. When initially hired, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
As a flex houseparent, you will work closely with students, providing guidance, support, and nurturing care. You will be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment that promotes the well-being and development of each student. Your role will involve managing daily routines, planning activities, and facilitating communication between students, teachers, and other school staff.
We offer a competitive salary package of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple), which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. Other benefits include relocation assistance, paid training, a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, and three-week paid summer vacation. We are looking for couples who have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from underserved settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
