What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Guidance Counselors position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to join our team as family guidance counselors. This role requires a unique blend of childcare, education support, and youth guidance. As a family guidance counselor, you will reside on campus with your spouse and provide a family-like environment for students aged pre-K to 12 from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The ideal candidate couple will have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably in under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they must have a high school diploma or GED. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required.
This is a two-person job that offers a competitive salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple). The salary includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. The work schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. Three-week paid summer vacation is also provided. The role requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to lead students in daily devotions and take them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
We are looking for couples who are comfortable with a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, as well as limitations on pets. Only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff are role models for students.
Salary : $43,825 - $150,000
