What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Parent Couples position at Milton Hershey School?
Who We Are
Milton Hershey School is one of the world's best private schools, where students in pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds receive an exceptional career-focused education with housing, meals, and more—and all costs are covered. Our school was founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, who generously provided us with the resources to ensure both students and staff are provided everything they need to thrive.
What We Offer
As a House Parent Couple, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including salary, housing, meals, utilities, and more. You will also have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators and support staff who share your passion for helping others. In addition, you will receive relocation assistance and paid training to help you prepare for your new role.
Responsibilities
As a House Parent Couple, your responsibilities will include providing a consistent family-like structure for our students, guiding them through daily life and education, driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and other household duties. You must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Note that proselytizing is prohibited.
Qualifications
Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings, is essential for this role. Both spouses should be age 27 or older and have been legally married for at least two years. You must also be able to lift up to 50 lbs and demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
