Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to become house parents, providing a fulfilling career path while positively impacting students' lives. As house parents, you will guide and nurture a group of approximately 8-12 students, handling responsibilities such as transportation, health support, and family-like structure.
Role and Responsibilities
You will provide a consistent family-like structure for students, handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and daily devotions. You will also take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Additionally, you will work closely with other staff members to ensure students receive the support they need.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible, couples must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions. A high school diploma or GED is required, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
Compensation Package
The house parents will receive a salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off.
