Role Summary
We are seeking skilled married couples to serve as Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. As Houseparents, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and emotional growth of approximately 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as Houseparents will include:
- Developing and implementing daily routines and activities to promote student engagement and motivation
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless student support
- Providing guidance and mentorship to students, helping them navigate challenges and make informed decisions
- Assisting students with homework, projects, and other academic tasks
- Maintaining a safe and organized living environment for students
You will also be expected to adhere to our policies and procedures regarding smoking, pets, and other aspects of campus life.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Couple must have been legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students
