Nurturing Environment for Students:
Milton Hershey School is committed to providing a nurturing environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a houseparent, you will play a vital role in creating a family-like structure for a group of 8-12 students residing in on-campus student homes.
Responsibilities:
Couples will be responsible for guiding and nurturing students, providing a consistent and caring environment. This includes driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. They will reside in different student homes initially before being assigned to one specific home. This requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, couples must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. They must also meet certain requirements, including being married for at least two years, having a valid driver's license, and being able to become certified to drive student home vans. Both spouses must complete an individual employment application, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
Compensation and Benefits:
This role offers a competitive compensation package of $150,000 per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more.
