Nurturing Families for Students in Need
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become Houseparents, providing a nurturing family-like environment for students in our care. As Houseparents, couples will guide a group of 8-12 students, handle daily responsibilities, and foster a career-focused education. This is a unique opportunity for couples to make a difference in the lives of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and to work together as a team to provide a stable and supportive environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Couples in this role will enjoy a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $150,000 per couple. This comprehensive compensation package also includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. In addition to the salary, couples will receive relocation assistance and paid training provided. Responsibilities and Requirements
As Houseparents, couples will be responsible for guiding a group of 8-12 students, handling daily responsibilities, and fostering a career-focused education. They will work as a team to support students' needs, providing a consistent and stable environment. To be successful in this role, couples must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Couples must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. Additionally, they must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff are role models for students. Finally, they must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have valid driver's licenses.
