MHS is seeking a Supervisor, Transportation to assist the Manager in the administration and oversight of all facets of the transportation department (which includes a fleet of 66 vehicles) and the school’s mail room. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and efficient transportation of students and school personnel
- Efficient and safe delivery of freight, mail, and food supplies throughout the campus
- Ensuring other transportation support services are provided as needed by the school
- Effective scheduling of a team of 35 union CDL drivers
- Coordinating the Charter Bus Program (chaperone) with over 110 ancillary adult bus monitors.
This is a year-round, onsite role located in Hershey, PA. Standard hours of operation Monday – Friday 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM with occasional weekends and holidays. The Manager and Supervisor of Transportation share an on-call rotation to ensure emergencies and issues are handled on a timely basis. Annual salary range of: $65K to $86K, pay is determined based on experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role. Experience supervising in a union environment, preferred.
- Knowledge of Travel industry practices and services.
- Valid PA Driver's License in good standing.
- CDL Class B License with a P-S and Air Brake endorsements.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written.
- Interpersonal skills include the ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate, and collaborate.
- Experience working with or around children & youth in a diverse workplace preferred.
- Computer skills utilizing Internet and Microsoft applications and report writing experience.
- Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
- Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
Salary : $65,000 - $86,000
