Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become flex houseparents in a unique career path that provides a nurturing family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Residential Youth Caregiver position involves guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students, handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. Flex houseparents provide a consistent family-like structure for students and reside on-campus student homes.
We offer a competitive compensation package including salary, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Successful candidates will receive a supportive work schedule with nine days on followed by three days off, plus a three-week paid summer vacation.
Our ideal candidates have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, have been legally married for at least two years, and have no more than three dependent children residing in the student home.
Key qualifications include a valid driver's license, ability to become certified to drive student home vans, high school diploma or GED, and a high degree of integrity. We require both spouses to complete an individual employment application and abide by our smoke-free, weapon-free, and pet-friendly campus policies.
