Role Description
As a Houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you will be responsible for providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students. You will work closely with other staff members to ensure the well-being and success of our students, and be responsible for managing household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You will also be required to administer medication and provide basic first aid when needed, drive students to appointments and activities, budget and manage household finances, report any concerns or issues to the relevant authorities, and lead daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Key Responsibilities
• Providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students
• Managing household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Administering medication and providing basic first aid when needed
• Driving students to appointments and activities
• Budgeting and managing household finances
• Reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant authorities
• Leading daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. This is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. You must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
